I need to replace my battery for my Dell Inspiron 1525. A replacement from Dell is pricey. Amazon and eBay have cheaper batteries, but does that mean the quality is not near Dell? What is the right choice? Dell or no name brand?

I don't know. I got a cheapo replacement 7200mAh battery for my Inspiron 1720 recently. It already has 15% wear from a few weeks of camping. Lots of complete charges and discharges, pretty heavy use without any AC, just charging off the car battery. Turns out that complete discharges do kill a battery faster, it's better to charge them as often as you can. I don't know if a Dell battery would be better, because I never used my Dell battery in this manner.

At least the cheapo does work as advertized. I haven't had any compatibility or falling out problems.
