    Yes, many batteries from older HP/Compaq models are affected, but not as many for Toshiba and even less for Dell. See the article below for details.

    my battery is dead it cant juice anymore. You think they will take it back and give me a new one?

    If the battery is covered under the recall, they will replace it no matter if it works or not as they will not test them.

    If the battery is affected they should change it, but if it is not, you have a limited warranty for 1 year with Dell, no matter if you have an extended warranty, so check if it is still under warranty. If you have a Dell battery, post the serial number on the battery, I can tell you if it's expired or not.
