Is it safe to remove the battery and just use the AC adapter charger ?

Yep that is what I do so the battery doesn't go bad

I just read about battery care and they actually suggest removing your battery if you are going to use it for a long period of time. Otherwise, your battery will drain and lose its charge.
I never knew that before, but looked into it when I noticed my 2-year-old laptop (inspiron e1501) now only holds a 3.5 hour charge....it used to hold a 6 hour charge!
I am going to be much more careful with my batteries for my new m1330. -
crazy. i usually leave my laptop plugged in for days on end with my battery installed.
Guess i should remove my battery for those times. -
If you do a google search for "laptop battery care", there are all sorts of great tips. Someone also posted a guide on this message board, but I can't find it. -

It is great that there is a section about calibrating your battery. I have never done this. And, I just turned on my xps m1330 with a 9-cell battery. One minute it says it is at 96% with only 2 hours left, the next it says it is at 96% with 9.5 hours, now it says it is at 95% with 6 hours.
So....I am thinking a little calibration may be in order
Just so I am sure, I basically need to drain the battery down to the point where the laptop tell em to plug-in, then recharge it? And, I should do this with every 30 charges....maybe once a month? -

Thanks, didn't know some of the things I read in that guide.

Never remove my battery. Always plug my laptop into the mains - well I need to with this M1730! I only really use the battery as a backup if the mains power fails - so its kinda like a mini UPS
Battery Question =(
