Since no review that I can find for the M1530 has a Penryn chip in it I wouldnt think the battery life would be exactly the same as now. Does anyone know what the battery life would be like with a Hi def screen, T8300, and a 6 cell battery, and the same but with the LED screen. Thanks.

Not sure about M1530s,but for Macbook Pros on a 6-cell, it offers 7-15% more battery life. Whether or not its significant is up to you to decide.

Not really that large of a difference, probably like 15-20 minutes difference..........
-
Like I said, the basis of significance is up to you. Though 15-20 minutes may seem insignificant, considering battery life on 6-cell for M1530 is 2 hours and 30 minutes... 20 minutes would be pretty sweet. On top of that, it is cooler because its 45nm and performs more efficiently than standard merom 65nm.

I've got a penryn M1530 running at 2.5 GHz. My battery life can reach about 3 hours even with WiFi on. It happens to be a lot better than my friend's model who got his about six months ago. His is a 2.4 GHz santa rosa and it only gets about 1.5 hours of battery life.
I pretty much compared mine and his to every single detail including benchmarks when I got mine I won! He isn't too happy! -
Here is a review they reviewed the Penryn version and the model before that.

I think that the differences should be no more than 15 minutes but it might even be as little as 5 depending on what settings are being used.
sahaskatta do you and your friends use the same settings? Also, do you both have the same type of screen?
From the link that i linked to-
These are the results with the Penryn processor

My friend has the old grainy screen, mine is the good LG one. both are 1680x1050. All the settings are set to the same. Both of us had fully charged batteries at 100%. We both unplugged it and checked the time Windows stated after a minute or two. And once again both had exact configuration on the advance power settings. Mine reported ~2 hours and 50 minutes and the old santa rosa model showed ~1 hour and 40 minutes.

The memron has a voltage range of 1.0375 - 1.30V while the penryn has 1.00V-1.250V. The difference is minimal (3%) but still the penryn is slightly better.
