Right now I am looking at getting an E1705, but I am somewhat worried about the battery life.

I am getting both the 6 and 9 cell batteries.

What I am really wondering about at this time is the difference in battery life between the Intel integrated 950 graphics card and the 7900 GS. I have only been able to find reviews of the E1705 with the 7900 GS in them(those got around 3 hours in the 9 cell) and I really would like to know the battery life I would get with the Intel 950(I don't game too often, the 7900 GS would be nice, but as little as I game higher battery life matters much more).

    Hello, and welcome.

Please note that many things can effect the battery life...the screen, CPU usages, HD, etc. I personally doubt that the GPU effect battery life, at least not that very much. It is all depending on how you use your notebook.

If you are looking for good battery life, you may want to consider a smaller notebook. The 7900gs is a very powerful mobile GPU and sucks a lot of juice. You probably don't see many e1705's with the GMA950/x1400 because the e1705 is more of a gaming rig.

I have thought about a smaller screen size a little, but I don't know...

I am actually quite into php coding and software development, so a bigger screen size is quite helpful. I will look at a 15.4" model once...

Ok, I looked into the 15.4" size and it looks like it might actually work ok with programming. :D

Could you tell me the basic specs on the laptop you have?

Unfortunately, the E1405 has only 14.1" But it is pretty powerful computer. Starter specs is Intel Core Duo 1.6 Ghz 2 MB cache, 512 MB RAM, CDRW/DVD combo drive, 6 Cell battery, Dell Wireless 1390b/g...$799 for starter spec. If you customize and went over $999, you can use the coupon code to save you much more.

I got a six cell battery and the 7900 GS. I get about 1:45 - 2:15 of internet browsing.
