Im new to getting a laptop and was wondering if i have to let the battery die when i first get it like most electronics then charge it fully to get the full efficiency out of battery

Someone else on the forums mentioned that he does that too his laptops to get the full efficiency. It sounds like it makes perfect sense.

Lithium-ion batteries are popular because they have a number of important advantages over competing technologies:
They have no memory effect, which means that you do not have to completely discharge them before recharging, as with some other battery chemistries.
If you completely discharge a lithium-ion battery, it is ruined. -
Also from what I have read it is best to charge a lithium-ion battery when it has about a 40% charge left -
So I should not keep my lappy connected all the time then?

There is an option in vista under the battery setting(press FN + F3 on the studio) where you can tell the laptop to stop charging the battery until the next restart
