I've been debating whether to go with the 6cell or 9cell battery. I'm a student who has never had a laptop before, so i don't really know if it's worth it to spend another $50 to upgrade. On the Dell site it says it's 50% more than the 6cell, though that can mean many things. I see most people on this forum opted to go with the 9cell, anyone care to give me insight on why? Thanks

I went with both, because it will never be as cheap to get a spare battery after market.
9 cell sticks out a tiny bit and adds weight, but not that much weight, and it provides somewhere around 30-35% more battery time, which is often important. -
Just be forewarned about how it sticks out. Dell doesn't show pics of the 9 cell battery, so I was disappointed when I got mine. For pics, see http://forum.notebookreview.com/showthread.php?t=143183

It's a recommendation by many to get the 6-Cell AND the 9-Cell. If you want the upgrade to the 9-Cell, it's only like $20 more to get BOTH
-
get the 4 cell and 9 cell for the win
-
4 Cells don't exist in this case
I was going to get both the 6-Cell and the 9-Cell but was convinced not to. I wouldn't want to carry around a spare battery as this thing is heavy enough. AND I don't want to leave the battery idle as it will be a waste.
