Okay, I removed my battery to preserve battery life (since I'm plugged in most of the time), but now there is a hole on the bottom of my laptop... not only that, but one of the rubber feet was on the battery, so now my laptop is not very stable. Anyone know if I can get a plastic cover to put there? I have a Dell Inspiron 6400. The battery type is GD761. I called Dell and they said they didn't have anything like that to send me. I searched online and didn't find anything for my particular computer.

I have never heard of such a device. I would doubt that it is even made, since its only the very savvy who remove their battery when its not being used.

Yeah, I agreed with gautam3, there is no such cover, the only way is to just put the battery in.

I suggested a custom fabrication in the battery guide thread. I don't think there's enough demand for a pre-made one of these when you consider all the different brands and models of notebooks--all with different sizes, shapes, textures, colors, etc.

I think every notebook should come with one in case you decide to remove the battery... but I guess they want you to keep the battery in so it doesn't last and you have to go buy another one.
