    Are the batteries for the Vostro 1400 and 1500 interchangeable?

    If I remember no 1400 is different. 1500 and 1700 are.

    No, I believe they are different.

    The 1400 uses Dell Part# 312-0585 for the 9 cell, and Dell Part# 312-0584 for the 6 cell.

    The 1500 uses Dell Part# 312-0589 for the 9 cell, and Dell Part# 312-0590 for the 6 cell.

    They all also have different manufacturer parts numbers.
