i just did a format and fresh windows xp install on my e1505, installed all the drivers, and everything is fine, but when i go into device manager, there are three unknown drivers under other, all titled 'base system device'
anyone know what this is and/or what drivers i can install to remove them
thanks

That's the media card reader. Go to Dell downloads and grab the Ricoh driver listed under Chipsets. Install that and you should be good to go.

Windows Update sometimes works as well.

Try reinstalling your chipset drivers. Several users have complained of this problem, and for whatever reason, the chipset drivers sometime don't install right on the first try.
Reinstall them and reboot. Hopefully that will fix it. -
I don't have a card reader and I am getting the same problem. Reinstalled all chipset drivers. Any thoughts?
Thanks all...
