    Hiya,

I have a lot of files on my hard drive so I decided to do a little spring cleaning. I began by rounding up some of my albums that I have on the computer then proceeded to burn them onto a DVD.

I received the message that there is bad sectors. I asked my brother what the deal is, he informed me that I would be advised to back up my data, bin the hard drive and get me a new one.

But this is a brand new computer, how could the hard drive be buggered yet?

Would it help if I formatted the hard drive?

Could someone please give me a solution that doesn't end with me purchasing a new hard drive.

If all else fails then yeah, I'll buy a hard drive. But I would like to avoid it. lol

Oh. My computer is Dell Inspiron 9400. So could you please tell me which size of hard drive I would need. (If I have to get one)

    Thanks. :)
