Just now iam off the phone with the dell customer care person. I was so mad talking to her because i called her to expedite my order since the dell rep said only takes 3 week and my delivery date is aug 27. All she said was ' IAM sorry sure i can't do that for you' ... My m1330 system come up to 3000 before discount and everything . i mean if iam willing to pay that amount iam sure i can get a better spec system somewhere else. I just want them to shorten my wait by couple days. Instead of doing ground shipment make it overnight or something. Is it too much to ask? She has no interest of helping me... iam so reconsidering dell customer service ><"

No offense but i really dont think they can do that. Everybody is probably calling up asking to make their order get shipped faster.
Why is that bad service? You know how many people probably ordered that notebook? Also I have seen on other sites that there might be a shortage of the screens ontop of the huge demand for the laptop. -
I had no problems canceling my order this morning..
-
dell actualy made such a good laptop that everyone wants one. Demand is so high that they didnt expect it. not to mention that they didnt even advertise it as much to keep demand down because they knew they would have shortages.
-
If you want to feel special for spending $3000, you should really go to a specialty vendor like Falcon Northwest or something. Dell is a global corporation, your $3000 does not make you a "big fish" with them. If you want special treatment from Dell, you better be ordering at least few hundred laptops.
-
You just have to keep buggin them with different shipping questions
But now that you've told them that you want it.. I doubt you will get it
See.. I knew that they would.. But i never said I wanted them to.. So i bugged them about 4 times about shipping and how I needed my order before a certain point for school -
Just do what I did, contact customer care with a question about when your order will ship. I got my upgraded from ground to next day for no charge.
-
and act like your not expecting like i did .. being all long
"0mg ur ultra mega L33T!!... i <3 YOU AND I <3 DELL.. F!CK HP, AND GATEWAY!!" -
Try to reach several persons also. Maybe she is not willing to help, maybe another one will try. But if they have a shortage on LED (that's probably the case), I don't see they could make anything really faster. Shipment maybe... But it's about their margin then. If they try to please all the customers buying a 1330 and unhappy with the delays, they will lose a lot of money. Maybe they consider it better if some cancel, as they cannot provide anyway... I know it's frustrating for the customers, but that's just the way it is. Too much requests for a product, they probably didn't expect this.
-
they said ONLY ground service is avaliable. ><" then howcome some ppl get overnight?
-
Explain again why you think you deserve to get you notebook before the people that got in line before you?
I got overnight free without even asking. The rep saw the ship date for my notebook and apologized for the wait and upgraded my shipping and removed the charges for the 2 day shipping i had originally paid for. It was a pretty decent thing to do but then again i also didn't throw a tantrum. -
I just went for ground because it was free... -
yea , but i dono't feel like reordering and put me back of the line just b/c i want overnight shipping. -
i'll call them again whether they do anyother shipping method, later today
-
yeah..i placed my order yest
shipping date is 8/07
i got free shipping + free upgrade to overnight -
-
what does free next day shipping or overnight means? I dont understand this!
-
Another thing you have to remember is that the Dell reps are real people. If you call up *****ing and moaning and saying how much you spent they will not react well.
I think Dell are starting to catch on. Nearly everyone in the forum had contacted Dell now asking for "expedited" shipping. They are not going to do it for every person who buys a laptop.
Also I just read your original post and it makes no sense at all. First you said you had a bad experience, but you posted a one line quote. Just because she refused to save you 1-2 days in shipping (at a much greater cost to them) is not a bad experience. You are not entitled to free overnight shipping, we are just trying to get something for free.
Finally you said the customer rep said:
Anyway, I think people need to chill out. It has not even been 2 weeks since they started taking orders, and a lot of the people *****ing only just placed their orders a few days ago. Let's wait and see if it really does take until August to ship until we start freaking out completely. When they actually start shipping any units we will start to see what the real wait time is going to be. -
iam not freaking out yet. I won'ot mind doing that .
wait till august -
yes they refuse
-
-
But yeah if it gets to August and noone on this forum has even seen their laptop then I am going to be pretty pissed. If that happened then I would probably cancel and either wait until later when they are shipping for real, or look for another system. But it is still early July so I am still in wait and see mode. -

T7300
Black Cover
160GB HDD
2GB RAM
No Webcam
WSXGA+ Screen
8600gt
Some other stuff i dont't remember off the top of my head. -
Did somebody suggest that shipping should be prioritized by order of price, rather than date placed?
-
sesshomaru Suspended Disbelief!
As of now, the long lead in period is only for the XPS.. the rest of them are pretty much on schedule..
-
I think the freebies are a matter of luck. It depends on which rep you get. As for shipping dates, some may ship faster because of component availability possibly ??? -

Bad Customer service experience.
