My employer had purchased me an Inspiron 1545 last month. I unfortunately had no choice in the model or options and I was hoping for a model with a backlit keyboard but did not receive one.

Now my question, is it possible to put the backlit keyboard from a studio in my inspiron?

I looked on ebay at a few pictures and the ribbon seems the same but there is also a small goldish ribbon next to it which i assume is for the lights, that im not sure the inspiron system board can accept. Is there anyway possible to make this work?

    Thanks.

I would like to know as well. I doubt I'll have a problem finding the right voltage on the board for the lights. I would just like to know if the ribbon cables for the actual keys is the same.

    Thanks!

I purchased a Studio 15 backlit keyboard on ebay and should receive it early next week. I will post pics of the install and the power source.
