I've read the pros and cons of CCFL vs Backlit LED (on the 1330). I could not find an answer for this:

Which one has the best viewing angle?

    also

If you have seen both types on the 1330, which one did you prefer?

I can't help but believe the Backlit LED is just around the corner for the 1530. I'm trying to justify the wait...
    Thanks!

None as each person will have their own view on the issue.
By the way we have 3 and 1 with back-lit and I find this one better then the other 2. (back-lit)

Thanks BlackRussion. I thought the LED should be a better looking display (higher price should indicate better display, but not always...) Thanks again, I re-worded my question.

The wife prefers her standard screen on her M1330 over mine back-lit so each to their own But yes back-lit all the way..
    Good luck.

Forum member MacG!ver had both and posted pics as well as his opinion here.

As for viewing angles, both the CCFL and LED panels use the same LCD technology, TN (Twisted Neumatic) and thus there's not going to be any differences in viewing angles or response times.

AFAIK, the main (if not only) advantages of LED is brightness, thiness of technology and efficiency (requires less power for the equivalent luminosity of a CCFL).
