I have a Dell D600 Latitude notebook and have a question. The screen is bright inthe middle but is noticeably darker on the right side. I replaced the inverter with a new one with no improvement. I will go through the trouble of replacing the backlight if it is bad but can I be reasonably sure it is? Can the backlight be bad in certain sections? Is replacing the tube a job a reasonably iclined person can do or is it best to just replace the entire screen?
    Any input will be appreciated..

I would bet it is a pressure mark caused by pressing on the lid to much.

I will try to take pics and post them....Im not sure if they will accuratley shw the problem. The laptop was purchased used so I dont know the history. The darkness is on most of the left side and a little darkness on the right side as you look at the screen. The majority of the middle area of the screen is bright. Nizzy..if you are correct could it be corrected?
