Hey everyone, I'm having a problem with the back light of my laptop. I have a Studio 15 that I bought around 1.5 years ago. I don't know why the back light randomly stops working. When it happens I turn off the screen and turn it on again and it works fine. Any clues on what is happening?
    Thanks!

It sounds like an inverter problem. If you've still warranty, you're ok. Call Dell tech support about this issue.

I don't have the warranty anymore. Can I replace the inverter?

If you're a little handy you can do it yourself. The inverter sits under your screen behind the bezel. So you have to take apart the screen lid.

I don't know exactly what kind of Studio 15 model number you have, but you'll find inverters at eBay for around $20 more or less.
