Okk, now lets assume a hypothetical situation.
Suppose LCD manufaturing technology has hit its nadir, and so, when you configure your notebook on an OEM's site, you get 2 options for screen:
1. Non-grainy screen, but with backlight bleeding.
2. Grainy screen without any backlight bleeding.
Which one will you chose? And you have to get a lappy.
I have screen with light bleeding at the bottom, but the contrast and sharpness on the screen is great. So, I dont think I will ask for a replacement.

As long as the backlight bleed was not excessive, I'd go with that.
My desktop screen has backlight bleed that is visible on black backgrounds, but it isn't noticeable most of the time, even looking at dark pictures.
Backlight bleed or grainy screen
