I sometime get the BSOD Bad_Pool_Header error code 0x00000019 and I’m not quite sure why. It occurs at random, especially when I shut down my laptop after a long day of work. (I have an Dell E1705, 2 gigs of ram, 256 mc 7900 GS running in Windows XP media center). It doesn’t seem like I’ve lost any information, it’s just a bit annoying that it occurs. I did a search on google and it pointed to several things ranging from ram to usb to drivers…etc. I know this issue occurs after the installation of Service Pack 2. I’m not expecting a definite answer since I know there are quite a few possibilities why this BSOD is occurs, I would just like to get a few tips on how to improve it. Thank you for your time.

P.S. I already turned off the Indexing service (which was mentioned as one of the fixes but then the next day, I got the same BSOD on startup). And please don’t say format, that’s like the universal noob’s fix for everything. I did format before and the BSOD still occurs at random.

do you use a wireless USB key for internet? i had that happen for a netgear MA111 on my desktop, and boy did it piss me off. it's probably a driver problem, but all three sets of drivers on the netgear website didn't work, so i had to finally give up and scratch it up to some windows update i didn't notice and ****ty netgear quality. good luck figuring it out.
