I wasn't doing anything out of the usual on my E1705 Dell Inspiron, but all of a sudden, a blue screen came up with...

That kind of PO's me off because I got my laptop no longer then a month ago. Is there something I can do about this. I do have the 4 year premium warranty. Please help, thanks.

download this memory test, two versions floppy or cd.

    http://www.memtest86.com/

you could try re-installing the memory and see if this helps.

or switch slots if you have more than one piece.

    good luck.

    John.

hehe Welcome to the Blue Screen Memory Parity Error community here. I have been experiencing this error for 8 months now with 3 replacement systems. They're all screw up actually. There is no fix for this thing except if you use Nvidia Video Card , you can try to switch the driver to a different versio for laptopvideo2go.com. I hope this help, but usually you should call Dell and explain your problem. They will suggest you to replace RAM (deny it , it's not RAM issue) , or replacement, it's your choice.

As of today, I'm sending mine to repair and replace motherboard. I hope this time they will fix it. If not, I want a refund, even though my laptop is 2months old now.

I got this error twice on my 3 month old xps. Dell is ordering a new motherboard to fix my 5-1 media reader. Hopefully this will also fix the blue screen of death.

Well, if I were to reformat, I should use my operating system restore disk. If my laptop came with the 2005 Media Center Edition, would it say that on the Operating system disk or would it say Home Edition? My sister received a dell laptop like 3 years ago, and her disks got mixed with mine and I am not sure which operating disk is mine. There's only one here, and I'm pretty upset now because my operating system disk might have gotten lost somehow.

call dell and ask for replacements, it shouldnt cost you anything , you want to do a full install, not a restore

I switched to the nvidia driver on the Dell website and started having blue screen issues as you have, i switched to the one on the Nvidia site and the problem has gone away.
