    BIOS keeps resetting on 14Z

    So after fooling around for a a while I finally realize the BIOS of trhe 14Z keeps resetting to defaults. So legacy boot option (fails), date/time reset, etc.

    Could this be a CMOS battery issue or something more serious? Happens definitely when power cord out after shutting down.

    Does your primary battery still work? In theory the BIOS shouldn't reset if at least one of the batteries are installed and working... but otherwise this does sound like a CMOS battery issue.
