Just got my e1405 today and it came with the a03 BIOS version (go figure it would be an old one). Well i've got a Merom here and it would love a new home, but i can not get the a04 BIOS to flash. When i click the .exe (as the directions say) it just gives a system beep and nothing. When i do the same thing on battery, it shows in the process tab running at ~20% CPU and csrss.exe consuming the rest of the CPU power bringing it to 100% and nothing happens. Eventually it just starts beeping and i need to restart to pull it out of that.
Flashing from DOS isn't really an option (no disks/FDD).
This isn't normal is it? I know others have flashed Dell's, so what am i doing wrong, or what is going on?!?!

Got it to flash with an FDD (DOS boot disc and a seperate disc with the .exe on it).
Has anyone else had this problem? Dell's site says it is an executable, but it certainly wasn't for me. Merom is running nicely though if you were wondering
