    Hey
how are you girls and boys..
    wel. here's my question:

i have a XPS M1710 an awesome notebook. but my battery only works for 1.15 Hours.. after its fully charged.

The facts about the battery are:
    DELL C54476
    Sanyo
    Lion

i am very worried cause. with a Mac Book Pro on the website them say the battery works for 5.5 hourse.. and that is very usefull...

    SO. this is the question:

if you have an XPS M1710 its the same about the battery for you?

    thanks for your time.

pd. sorry for my english. regards from Peru.

Yea, if you are gaming, or doing something intensive, I wouldn't be terribly surprised.

Also, see if you can check your battery wear level as well.

The XPS M1710 is not meant to be very far from an outlet. It's not really a laptop; more of a mobile desktop. So, depending on what you're doing, 1:15 may be perfectly reasonable.

XPS M1710 is a very power-hungry gaming notebook (especially if you have high end gfx card). Therefore 1hr 15mins is not surprisingly low for a system like that. Battery time depends on many things: battery capacity, what devices are being used (Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, optical drive), screen brightness, CPU speed, GPU speed and model, Windows power saving scheme, HDD RPM , plugged in devices (external storage devices, wireless mouse/keyboard).... and the list goes on...

Therefore You can’t compare yours with another notebook model like a McBook, because they use different components and they are built for different markets.

As said above, battery life depends on a number of factors. Turn off anything you don't need to use. I.e. Wifi/Bluetooth. Lower the screen brightness to which you deem acceptable.
Numerous components on the laptop have power saving features such as the soundcard.

Desktop replacements really aren't designed to be used on battery for very long (no matter what anybody says), and with dedicated graphics running graphics-intensive applications like you're using, I'd say it's completely normal. Sorry.
