Hello everyone, this is my first post on these forums so I wanted to say hello. Thank you for all the great posts regarding the XPS 1530; I decided to buy one last night.
I found a coupon code off a website attached to an ebay's seller page and it worked for the 1530. I'll try to find the code again and post it here, if this was a good deal (it seemed like it).
I got the 1530 with a 2.2GHZ CPU, 8600M GT, 3GB of memory, the high capacity battery, 160GB 7200RPM drive, Wireless N network card, Bluetooth, 3 year extended warranty, 1 year in home service, $200 Dell gift card and free overnight shipping for $1474. I'll go look for the coupon code and post it here this afternoon (it may be the one on Dell's website too, can anyone confirm this?).
I was a bit skeptical of getting the 1280x800 res screen but that seems like more then enough for a 15.4" laptop screen.

no there have been better deals in the past...such as the one on the 13th which was basically configure it up to at least $1499 and you get an instant $500 off...but the deal today is pretty good too...

Not a bad deal - taking the $200 gift card - it comes out to be $1275.
You could have configured the same thing for $1499 that included 3-year warrnety - then took another $200 off for a total of $1300 + tax...so $1350ish..no gift card tho...but 3 year service..
The difference is about $75-$100 - which I'm sure you can upgrade to the 3 year plan if you need it in the future.
Awesome deal on XPS 1530?
