Has anyone had this work on vista? Device manager sees it OK but the aver media center app does not see the card. :"cannot find aver media tvtuner cards". Using latest drivers on their site.

Dell did not send install cds for this and avermedia website is poor.

    Thanks in advance!

Just received a similar product (HC80) and noticed they have different sites (US & worldwide), you might want to check both out as I noticed the 2 sites host different revision of the drivers.

    US http://www.avermedia-usa.com/
    Worldwide http://www.avermedia.com/

The one I have has the block sticking out of the expresscard and since I am in L.A., it pulls in excellent OTA HD conents, but the analog channels are hit & miss with the little whip antenna.

It works well with either Media Center (running Home Premium) as well as Aver's app, however, my remote control is DOA so the unit is being returned, may just swap for the HC82 but no one seems to stock it as it is rather new.

    Good luck.

thank you, their tech support states this card is only supported with windows media center.

After configuring the TV setting in WMC i've enjoyed using this card. I think it's worth it.

I bought it directly from dell with my laptop order.

It is interesting that the HC82 works only w/ Media Center, perhaps Avermedia hasn't a chance to update its own app? The HC82 is not available under Dell's accessory sale (onlywith new laptop order as you pointed out). I have yet to find this card elsewhere. Guess I have to wait a bit.

Sounds like you are happy with the reception. BTW, how is the antenna attached? Does it sit on the edge of the lid?

We have an XPS1530 as well, and ordered the TV tuner. We had the exact same problem, we called Dell, they seem to have corrected the problem. They took control of the computer online. It works now, but with a huge lag. Pretty disappointing. The TV guide page doesn't work as well. Wanted to record shows, but not with a lag like that. Any suggestions?

Here is what I got from AverMedia tech support:

Please kindly go to http://www.avermedia.com/avertv/Product/ProductDetail.aspx?Id=429&SI=true&tab=APDriver to download the corresponding driver for your device to properly work. After installation, please kindly go to "Sound, video and game controllers" in device manager to see if the device has been successfully installed or not. For your information, this device can only work under the MCE application.

Are you able to get the RCA/S-video adapter to work? I can get WMC to work as a TV, but not as an input for a video camera, etc.

The Avermedia hybrid nanoexpress has since been released, and is now available to buy from newegg.com. It works with Aver Mediacenter and it comes on the install cd. However im one of the people that got the card without this install cd, and avermedia has yet to release a working version on their website. If anyone has a copy of the cd or a place to download the aver mediacenter that works for the hc82u that would be GREAT!

u have to check whether avermedia HC82 has hardware clearqam support, and then check whether Avermedia has a clearqam driver for it

for my Pinnacle PCTV Ultimate, its hardware clearqam supported, released last september, but clearqam drivers were only released 4 months after being sold (and it was only beta!)

    Did you receive any help?

I am on the Dell M1530 too.

I can't install the drivers in order to make this work.

I have the AVerTV Hybrid NanoExpress ATSC media card.

The model # of my media card is HC82. (302AHC82-B6D on the front of the card and HC82 (ATSC) on the back. It also has the number 302B92 on the back as well as AVM-HC82-1(B) on the back.

This product came with my DELL computer so I first followed the direction on DELL's website which are as located at: https://support.dell.com/support/edocs/acc/P166078/en/setup.htm
    and say:
I can not find the file HC82_Drv_x86_V1.3.0.19_Install_AVerMedia_Encoders_Dell.exe.

So I went to AVerMedia's website and went to the "Home > Support > Software Download > Application & Driver" page for AVerTV Hybrid NanoExpress HC82U which can be found at http://www.avermedia.com/avertv/Product/ProductDetail.aspx?Id=442&tab=APDriver. I noticed that I do not have the HC82U.

It says for DELL users to
The HTML User Guide was already what I used. That was not helpful.

I downloaded from that driver download link the R175810.exe file and ran the file. After the installation was complete, I put the media card into the slot and recieved the follow error messages:
So when that didn't work, I downloaded the AVer MediaCenter : 1.7.2 the file name for which is "HC82U_MCS.1.7.2.08062401_Drv_1.3.x.58_SwEncoders_3.0.1.0_AVIN_1.1.0.10_1.0.0.6_080730.exe" Similar, but not the same as the one DELL told me to run.

I ran the file, installed the AVer MediaCenter. After instalation, I put the media card into the slot and received the same error messages.

I noticed that on my desktop during that install process a folder had been created, "MCS". I opened that up and went to the Driver folder, and installed both "Setup_x86" and "Vista_x86". After doing that, I received the same two error messages as above plus the following:
Finally, I downloaded the file that I found linked on this website for the HC82 at http://www.avermedia.com/avertv/Product/ProductDetail.aspx?Id=429&SI=true&tab=APDriver. That led me to the same first two error messages.

I have uninstalled all the files that I installed associated with AVerMedia. I tried reinstalling everything. I have rebooted at various times between installs and uninstalls.

    Nothing seems to work.

    Please help!

I just received my nanoExpress HC82U and installed the drivers from the cd, uninstalled, then installed newer drivers from the US website. I am running XP professional on a Lenovo T61 (3 gigs ram, core 2 duo 2.2ghz t7500). I tried both the media center from the cd and the webpage as well. None of these combinations of drivers and media center versions work. I keep getting "Can't find avermedia tv tuner cards!". Windows device manager shows that the device is working. I installed a trial version of SageTV and this software finds the card AND ACTUALLY WORKS with the card, but at the same time, does not support digital OTA signals, which is the reason I bought the card in the first place. Is there anyone who has gotten MediaCenter to work with XP, not MCE? Is there a work around? Is there another application out there that does support digital OTA signals? If I can get this to work before anyone gets back to me, I will be sure to post my solution. I am kind of upset

I struggled with mine for a little while, tried installing, uninstalling, and reinstalling several different programs. I ended up getting it to work using the AVerTV: 6.0.12 found on www.avermedia.com. The AverTV program still didn't recoginze the tuner card, but I was able to use both the tuner and the composite inputs with Windows Media Center. To use the composite inputs, you'll need to go to Windows Media Center -> Online Media -> Program Library -> AVerMedia Video Gaming Plug-in.

I was able to use this on Windows Seven 7 with Windows Media Center.

Runned the 6.0.12 in Windows XP SP3 compatibility mod ( custom install with only drivers )

Then runned the 6.3 Beta ( custom install with only drivers).

    Then copy/paste one file ( something like C:/Program Files/AverMedia/Avermedia HC82 ect/Avermedia64xxxxx.sys ) in C:/Windows/system32/drivers/

The file already exist in C:/Windows/system32/drivers/ in an older version.

Do not have the exact name right now.

If you just install 6.0.12 you'll have a BSOD ( at least I had ) when you scan for channels.
