Hey im form melbourne. I ordered on 25th July.. They said parts are coming in Aug 24th. Tomorrow, and will start building as soon parts arrive..

That's bad news, i ordered five days after you and my EDD is 10th, I guess my date will slip too...

 

How come you get a call from the REP? I dont call me at all. I have to email them and ask whats going on. Thats BS

 

This is getting pretty ridiculous now. I first ordered on the 13th July. Then about 2 days before estimated ship date they rang up and said the 4 cell battery wasnt compatible with my order. So then on the 31st July I reordered. My ESD was the 29th August. Today I was told it has been pushed back to the 15th of September. Apparently according to my Rep "Keemeng Ling" the LED Backlit LCD is in stock now but the Tuxedo Black Cover is out of stock and due to arrive on the 31st of August. I cant beleive a company as big as Dell is having these problems. How are those Canadians getting thier order so quickly?????

Here is the post from DELL Alex Gruzen, the illustrious Sr. VP, the story is going on and on. He spoke of painting problems and parts shortages...oh yeah, and the whole blah, blah thing about ramping up production. He knew then what we all know now...that it was all a bunch of lies. There have been no parts shortages or painting problems... “We have worked through about 10% of our backlog and will focus on improving this going forward” so I don’t expect my laptop will arrive on the new EDD.

I presume the first shipments went to North America, mostly destined for the US, but we went along for the ride. Europe's having the same delays.

 

I don't mean to nit-pick but when American/Canadian orders placed during late-July have shipped and European orders placed within the first few days of July haven't, the delays aren't entirely the same... At least you had prioritised delays! lol

(Disclaimer: I'm not pointing the blame at anyone except Dell... I'm happy that at least some of us have laptops to show to the ones of us that don't! )

 

well i hope the quality i get today on m1330 will be good. Since the delivery is nearly here today.

So i'll try and post some pictures for you guys later.

Also for your information. the CSR Rep that i spoke to was Sharron. Seems that she is being very helpfull but still bull****ting alot for a bit.

First the delay they told me out of Palm Rest and i asked whether that's the only thing they are waiting for. They said yes, then 2 days before 16th/8 i called them and now saying waiting for the Red Cover. Saying the parts arriving on 24th/8 and the ESD would be beginning of Sept.

After that i give it to them saying they wasting so much of my time, need to work laptopless and being patience for 1 months and delayed too many bullcrap.

So then waiting until 18th/8 they finished building it and shipped from Factory. Arrive in Australia on 20th/8 and With Local Carrier 21th/8.

Called them yesterday to wondering when they going to deliver it. They said will be today from 9am - 5pm. So They better be here or I'll kick their Ass.

Mine has shipped yesterday, should be here early next week.

 

The guys I have been speaking to in Australia tell me:
* LCD and Fingerprint Palmrest out of stock - due to arrive 31/08 (found out on 22/08)
* Camera out of stock - due to arrive 07/09 (found out on 23/08)

However, the last person I spoke to via the 1300 number said that the Black covers were the problem, and that they are due on 31/08.

Who knows what to believe really. I would probably have mine by now if not for the fact that I took the advise of the first guy in Australia I spoke to who said the Black lids were moving quicker. What a mistake.

Nono! I meant Europe's having the same delays as Australia. I know you guys have it way worse than us.

 

Mine was "Buit and Manufactured" in a couple of hours ago? And now its on "Shipping From Factory".
They only received the parts today.. and they actually priortized to build mine straight away? pfft

 

How come for Australian buyers, it doesnt say "Testing" , "Boxing" like the others do?

Mine only says "Work in Progress", "Manufacturing Build Complete", "Ship From Factory".

 

Ok Finally i got my laptop.

But a quick review on the quality.

first thing i notice when i put on the Table. It can wobble, Which NOT GOOD.
Second the Top left where the XPS sign was a bit crooked, which the same as the forum that describe the XPS m1330 Design quality issues.


BUt finally my laptop arrives. at least

 

really? so are you gona return it and get a replacement?

 

i'm not sure yet whether i should be getting a replacement or not. Coz everyone seems having almost the same issues.

Mine have CPU whine but i think it's not loud enough to made it sound annoying. So that's ok.

My laptop (although not an M1330), arrived in Australia yesterday and today the order status updated to say that it is with my local carrier. Now I am curious to see just how quick my local carriers is.

they usually call you 5 days to arrange the delivery, But you can call your CSR reps to boost the time quick as i did.mine with local carrier on the 21st aug, called on 23rd Aug and delivered 24th Aug.On 25th Aug, They called me again to arrange the delivery...

I was like hmmm i already got the laptop lol.

Ordered a M1330 on July 17th. have been charged on July 19th. Few days before the first EDD I got a phone call saying that my order will be delayed, BUT dell gives me a printer free of charge otherwise they will have to cancel my order. So they canceled the original order and placed a new one with the printer in it and gave me a EDD of September 15th. So that is almost 2 months. Haven't heard anything from them since the call on August 6th.

This was my FIRST dell order ever... and I guess my LAST one at the same time... thank you for this nice experience

Im surpsrised mine is with local courier, i was expecting a longer delay. They offered me a free printer too.

 

why don't you call your CSR and Finds out?

 

I have been trying to find out any information for the last two days. CSRs are useless, you ask them a simple question, like date or whatever that should be on their screens when they talk to you and you give them your order number, but instead i have been transfered from one CSR to another..i guess it's something like a sport...customer tennis maybe... anyway I ended up with a polite answer that they don't have any information, but they will make sure that someone calls me the same day and gives me some information... never got a phone call though.... waiting today again... I guess I need to sound angry, ask their employee number or something to get something out of them...

English is not my native language, I know talking on a phone in a different language is sometimes hard, but why do they employ people in a call center for English speaking countries who don't speak English at some decent level. I'm having serious troubles to understand what the CSR is trying to tell me, even if it's just a simple number.... That is annoying.

I went and e-mailed my CSR, with information off this forum. If the Tuxedo Black Cover is now the part that's holding things up, I told them to switch it to a Crimson Red. Will let you guys know about their response.

 

Really? When did you order your laptop? Yeah get Red, I reckon its better, i should've gotten Red. >.<

My m1330 is fine. I got BSOD at the first start asking to run diagnostic or Start the window normal when i first got it and turn on lol.

I got a bit CPU Whine, and Uneven base.

Minor issues on the build quality, but i guess i can put up with it.

I don't get any extra as i'm suppose to get the Game headset, but out of stock then they want to give me a free printer. I refuse because i got too many printer at home lol.

So i ask to free upgrade my Hd from 120 to 160gb for free.

so far not sure whether i should reformat the computer or not.

 

I ordered on 16th July, with EDD of 9 Aug. But they contacted me and told me about the LED Aug 24 delays. I got a reorder with 4GB of RAM instead on 3 Aug, and they quoted a 10 Sep EDD... Then got an e-mail saying they were delayed until 31 Aug on "parts" - they didn't mention what parts.

 

Maybe wait until the shipping process is all working properly, then ask them to replace the defective parts later on down the track. My understanding is that the XPS cover is supposed to be really good.

 

My original EDD was August 24th then last week it changed to September 14th. But to my astonishment I looked at the order status today and it says "Build And Manufacture Complete" "Ship From Factory" today. I was like WHAT THE??? Does this mean I get my Computer earlier than the EDD??? I ordered it on the 13th July and then they cancelled it and I had to reorder on the 31st July. Should I get exited???
