Whenever I listen to music from the audio jack on my Studio 15 it sounds very muddy, like there's too much bass and zero treble. Also there is a large amount of background static noise, which can be heard whether music is playing or not. The same headphones sound great on my iPod and other devices, is there any way to improve either of these things? Turning on "Disable all enhancements" in sound helps a bit with the muddiness, but it makes the speakers sound worse so I'd have to switch every time I use headphones.

    Thanks

Im guessing you have Windows 7?

If so go to add/remove and uninstall your IDT sound driver.Reboot and let Win7 install its own driver.
Then go to sound in control panel and adjust sound there.

Ill bet money it sound alot better

I'll try that, thanks. Have you done it? Do the outputs get better?

Alright, I just did this. The muddiness seems to be gone! The static is still there however. The integrated speakers sound better too. IDT's driver really sucked! I also used to have a problem where after sleeping/waking a few times, the audio would not work, I wonder if thats gone now too since the IDT driver is gone.
