Can you guys touch the area around the latch of your laptop; the one on the LCD; from time to time, and tell me if you feel a shock from it. I wanna know if this is a defect in my system.

    Ardor,

Sounds like there could be a short in your system. I would call Dell or chat with them and tell them what happens. You might want to make sure that you are getting shocked because of a short.

Other things can cause this such as low humidity and it you are walking on carpet alot and dragging your feet. I would call Dell if you are concerned.

Hmm... I have felt a sting, nothing extraordinary really, from time to time on my right hand around the base where the stickers are (that's the general area, meaning I have felt it on the corner or just a few centimeters of that side of the laptop). I don't worry about it much, but I did find it odd as I work unplugged on a wooden cubicle and wood it's not a good electricity conductor

Since I have had notebook computers (six so far), I've never had an issue similar to this. If other i9300 owners do not experience a similar problem Ardor, I would say send it in...usually, stray electronic currents, especially ones that are strong enough to give you a shock, aren't the best thing to have running around inside a notebook. ;)

I havent had any problems with electric shock but I do know that during the winter time when the air is dry there is a higher chance of conducting electricity while walking on carpet with your socks on.
Have you tried touching something metal before touching your Laptop latch?

i haven't had this problem either. Like fresh said, it could be related to static eletricity. At my school, I get shocked by everything but haven't had this occur with the laptop yet.

I don't know. It does not happen all the time. I would have to try booting up the laptop someplace else to truly confirm this...

And it's not a big shock, feels like a static shock...
