Weren't there alot of GPU-related failures on the M1330 due to overheating? Or is that resolved?

Well, what's your reasoning for waiting for Montevina?
The upgrade isn't SUPER-REVOLUTIONARY or anything, lol.

To the thread Op: Thankyou so much! I just purchased a m1330 off dell outlet for almost 1500. I been reading up on all the heating problems and i saw one in person at best buy. I'm extremely disappointed. But i found your post, and i purchased myself a m1530 for 1300 dollars with the same specs! Thankyou so much! Unfortunately they arent going to ship my laptop till august :( And i have to make some problem up and return my m1330..

burst, your laptop will most likely be in your hands by the end of July. Dell overestimates build times just in case.

tried the coupon, coupon removed the original $549 off this config and replaced with 25% off, not that useful

maybe more useful during 10days of sales

lol no, it is useless. What you want to do is choose the lowest configuration without coupon, add what you want, then use it to maximze effectiveness. And word of advice, don't pick 4 gigs of ram while customizing. 10 Days of Deals sucks compared to this. Its not bad, but these coupons allow you to max out everything you want without getting 4 gigs of ram, getting a verizon broadband card, or any other junk you wouldnt care much about.

No your EPP doesnt. Your EPP + the 25% off coupon does. More dependency on the 25% outweighs the amount by the EPP by quite a bunch. :)

I doubt they will do the EPP 15% discount anymore as that only happened during the last week of April and never came back. Probably because Dell felt something wrong about giving people 40% off a popular laptop.

well, a low-end spec'd m1330 at dell home plus 25% would beat EPP, but any loaded laptop on Dell EPP(with their normal member discount and 8-12% off) would beat Dell home plus 25%

and seeing that dell xps is a 'luxury' item.....

It not always 8-12% off. It varies, sometimes its 4, sometimes less, though typically those discounts are no longer available for the very reason that Dell doesn't want people getting 40% off their XPS line after that one week in April. Besides, there are many people who don't have access to EPP. Regardless without EPP, the 25% off discount is bigger than every other deal by dell.

Especially their back to school deals. :)

Just a heads up! The Coupon DOES NOT expire till JULY 25th (per Dell CART page)

Soooooo those that are waiting for July 14 and above for Montiveno refresh maybe we can *really* wish the new updates will get "leaked" for making a truly informed decision =D

Regardless, I recommend ordering on July 25th, just because even if the new models do come out, you have a 21 day return period so you have a grace period to choose whether you want to return or not.

I don't know, I think this deal is pretty comparable to the best deal I can configure through EPP on the 1530 right now.

comeon... 1268 with led, T8300, nvidia 8400, 4 yr warranty+acc damage is great (unless u dont want warranty, then a great deal would be the same machine with 1-yr warranty for $999)

Unfortunately Blu Ray costs a fortune on the 1530, or this would seem like a better deal. :(

I think they did the crazy end of april deal to get orders in for financial reasons! I refuse to believe that was a mistake, Dell has way to many people keeping an eye on things to let an accident stay alive for so long! I would not be suprised if it happens again (we have seen crazy deals like this in the past), its just going to happen the next time they need a boost in sales and it may not be the XPS line! Maybe in the fall we will see another one happen?

Ok, is it possible to configure the same specs for a lower price with the 20/25% off?

    T8300
    4GB
    LED Screen
    250 GB Drive
    Intel 4965 AGN
    Bluetooth
    3 year warranty
Using the EPP Deal: $1227 including taxes and shipping (after 8% off + 4% off for DPA)

20/25% off deal: several hundred $ more expensive, more expensive even when warranty is taken out.

The EPP deal is not just M1330 btw, there is a similar thread for M1530, I only pasted the M1330 version, both are very similar.
