I will be attaching a flat panel 17" monitor to my 9200 monitor.
Can anyone here tell me if it is possible to have the display
turned off on the laptop so that I can keep the top closed while
viewing the flat panel monitor. Tried to find this in search, but
the search wasn't loading. Sorry if this is a 100 X repeat question!
I also couldn't find the answer to this in the DELL Owners Manual.
    TIA for your help.

most laptops automatically turn it off, but if it doesn't it can be changed under power management. It might not be a good idea to close the lid because most laptops have air intakes on top that will be blocked by that.
