That should raise the level of build quality a bit.

Asus makes great notebooks, this should help the reputation of Dell's quality as well as helping Asus' business.

Asus makes great cases - they make cases for Voodoo as well, which is a REALLY botique brand, but evidently not enough people to have an area in notebookreview's forums! :(

Nice. If I hadn't bought the M90, I would have gotten an Asus W3J. Maybe we'll see a Dell 14" with an x1600 (well, the equivalent for Q2 next year). Anyone wanna guess whether it's an Inspiron or an XPS? Mainstream suggests an Inspiron, but Asus' reputation of 14" (ie W3J, W3J+) suggests it may be an XPS.

And for Apple, which is a little less boutique than Voodoo, but you get my drift. Just reinforcing your point that Asus definitely does not make junk.

Dang, if only i knew! I should have waited for next year before ordering my 640m. What company did dell contract their 14.1" before this news?
