Those with experience, care to enlighten on their situations?
I'm getting a 2nd replacement but was told by CSR that I need to send back the 1st replacement. So that will be done... I then asked for compensation and was told that I should ask for it when they contact me about the 2nd replacement. For those that have gotten more than one replacements, is that how it works? You send back the 1st replacement and then they call you back when they decide to send the 2nd one? Did you guys get compensation back from dell?

    THanks.

It would've worked if you said you would return the first system w/o replacement.

Now that you got the replacement, I don't think it be smart for Dell to give you credit since their cost to serve YOU DOUBLED.

Doesn't hurt to try I guess though. Give them a call, and see if the threat to return the system works. It be kinda funny if the CSR just says "sure".

if you went and bought a shirt from a fancy store and got home and noticed there was a hole in it, would you demand an exchange or an exchange + compensation?

call back and be serious tell them you changed your mind. tell them you can not wait to recieve a replacement system due to work or school either usually works, and YOU WANT A ADVANCE REPLACEMENT if they can not do this tell them you will simply return it for a refund (make sure you sound like you will really do this also dont be a push over), if they can not provide you with a working system in the meantime you can simply take your business elsewhere.

at this point ask for the manager. explain this all to him again, if he can not help you... ask for (and here is usually the key) the escalation dept. sometimes they will have to call you but they will return your call.

this works almost all the time. dont be a pushover trust me they ship out replacments in advance all the time. but sometimes you have to be willing to push for what you want. if you need to get demanding. if you can have someone else call while you stand there they will not know its not you since this person has all your info with you being there to answer..

normally once you attempt to go to escalations they will start to become more giving to you. hell i had 650$ total comps when i was dealing with the bad screens
