How late can you ask Dell to replace a Samsung screen with an LG?

You can't request a particular manufacturer. Period....

It is the luck of the draw based on the components they have at the time you order.

i don't think you can. i was promised a dell replacement. did not happen. it's luck of the draw.

or just return your computer after wasting an enormous amount of time and cell minutes on trying to get a decent screen.

my first computer. ever. what a nightmare that was.

If they ship you a complete new replacement system in the thirty day return window, you have a chance of getting a different screen, right? If so, I think that would be the most reliable way of getting an LG. My personal experiences with Dell reps show that they don't really understand that there are many different manufacturers of their LCD screens... and can't order a replacement of a specific brand anyways.
