So I ordered my Alienware Area-51 with a bunch of upgrades totaling at something like $5000 on January 22nd. It has been in the "In Production" stage for a while and today they sent me an email saying the delivery date was changed to February 23rd. It was initially supposed to be shipped by February 16th.

So I'm wondering if "In Production" means they have actually started building the computer, or if there is a chance they are still processing payment information. Is there any chance they haven't confirmed the payment at this point, I would consider canceling the order.

Secondly, when Dell gives you a delayed ETA, how often do they delay the system from arriving further? I'm worried that a week and a half from now I will get another email saying I won't be getting my system until March. If any of you have some experience with this I'd appreciate your suggestions.

    Thanks!

The dell order status lines seem to never line up across the board, but I found that this hotline number is the most accurate. You will need your 9 digit order number.

    Call: 1-800-283-2210

When it connects you will hear a little bit of hold music, and follow these prompts:

    3,2,1,1

Tell us what it says your order status is in.

Thanks a lot for the number, the other ones I tried weren't helpful. I called and they said that the good news is all the parts are in stock, and there shouldn't be another delay in the order. Further, it should be shipped out in the next three days. Is the 23rd a reasonable day to expect it? I live in Texas if it makes a difference.

Just got another email today, it's delayed again and the revised EDD is 3/9. Twice Dell support has told me there would be no further delays, and that I should receive a tracking number within the next day or two, and all I get is an email saying it's delayed again. Also, I've tried three time to upgrade my shipping as suggested on here, (since there are so many delays) and all three times I just get a "I'm sorry sir, we can't do that" response. What should I do?
