The Notebook Review forums were hosted by TechTarget, who shut down them down on January 31, 2022. This static read-only archive was pulled by NBR forum users between January 20 and January 31, 2022, in an effort to make sure that the valuable technical information that had been posted on the forums is preserved. For current discussions, many NBR forum users moved over to NotebookTalk.net after the shutdown.

    Are you running Vista AND waiting for a Dell?

    Howdy.

    For those folks who are a)as impatient as I am, b)running Vista, and c)waiting for a Dell system, I have a nice suggestion for you.

    There is a Vista sidebar gadget that lets you view a portion of a website, and which will automatically refresh at customizeable intervals. So being the impatient person I am, I pointed this gadget at my order status page. Attached is a screenshot.

    It's not that useful considering I should have more patience than I do..but I thought it was kinda neat since I was hitting up the status site every hour anyway. =)

    I've been "stuck" at the boxing step since Friday.

    I found it usefull on a ebay auction I was bidding for.

    But I don't use it much besides that.
