I've seen some very good deals on xps M1330 refurbs on the dell outlet. I've never bought a refurb laptop before and was wondering if I should steer clear of refurbs or not. I'm assuming they come with some type of warranty, etc. I can get a better spec'd out computer much cheaper if I get a refurb. Any opinions would be appreciated. Thanks.

You can find some good deals at the outlet, and scratch or dent doesn't always mean that. :)
I always say it's kind of a gamble, some times you win, some times you lose, but if you get one with a good warranty you should be fine. :)

i agree with talin and i would base my decision on the price and/or performance difference between the new and the old one.

Well one of my friend just bought one refurbished laptop but that is the XPS 1700 series if i am not wrong. She has the high end NVIDIA graphics driver installed. It has just been a week and she seems to be pretty happy with it. As far as the warranty is concerned its the same as that with the new ones. So i dont think it would be a bad deal to buy a refurbished one

Also the thing with "refurbished" is, some times if they'll replace some components with brand new, updated ones, some times better than the first version.

That's a really good deal, imo. Like others say, as long as you get a good warranty you should be fine.

Not planning on doing any significant gaming on it. Really just getting it for typical tasks such as web surfing, email and also going to use it to study for my cpa exam with self study video cd's. Just wanted something fairly slim and light while not having to mortgage the house to afford it.
