Ive seen how the yellow and red lids on the notebooks have a glossy shine that make it easy to leave fingerprints, and am just wondering (since I ordered a jet black color for my laptop) are the black the same style, as in glossy?

I don't know if I'd consider it "glossy" per say. But yes, the black is extremely susceptible to finger prints.

( Assuming it's the same lid as the M1330. )

its not at all glossy and your fingerprints would get onto the lids -___- and its not a fun experience to clean them off but i love my laptop

ah ok. I had only seen what a white lid looked like up until now. Oh well, I love the way the black lid looks.

    Me too.

I think the the "coolness" factor of a custom colored lid would wear off (for me at least) after a while and then I'd wish my lid matched the black on the trim and base of the laptop.

Glossy lids are much nicer, regardless of the fingerprints. The M1330's "soft touch" red paint isn't great.
