Story time. I had a Dell Latitude D600 for college. Within the 4 years I had it I had to reimage it twice, the motherboard replaced, and the battery die along with a slew of other problems. It was a required laptop for my school, and everyone I knew had problems with theirs.
Now, are there good stories about Dell laptops? Was the latitude line an anomaly of just terrible computers, or are Dell's pretty bad in general for laptops.
I've always had good luck with their desktops, but the laptop experience was very discouraging and makes me not want to get one again.
Does anyone have any opinions?

The motherboard dying is the only thing out of the ordinary there.
The battery is only expected to last x amount of usages before it needs to be replaced. If you were using it a lot on battery in 4 years then I'd expect it to be replaced.
Having to re-image it is always down to what the user is doing to the machine.
I've small issues here and there with my dell laptops but they are all still working. Oldest is an Inspiron 8100 which is still chugging away although I do have to take the keyboard off every now and again and plug the video card in properly. -

Are all Dell Laptops terrible? Or just Latitudes?
