The Vostro only has size options and not screen type. I assume they're antiglare... am I right?

true life means its shiny. if its not true life then its the old matte finish. only the xga screen has the option for matte or truelife, the others are truelife only

So that means it's glossy? I wanted antiglare, too...

I got the WUXGA with truelife.

Well, I haven't tried out either yet, but to be honest I'd rather have antiglare for more practical purposes (like using it in brightly lit areas)...

then again we know all gamers thrive in the dark. =/

mine works fine in bright lit rooms, the only thing that can be harder is outside in the sun...but matte is hard to see still in the sun aswell

You must have a very bright screen then.

90% of the time it'll probably be in my living room, where lighting is provided by flourescent lights eminating from one corner of the room. From what I'm seeing in those pics... I'm getting very scared. Thing is, they don't even offer a WUXGA without truelife.

Everyone I know who's ever had a choice picked antiglare screens instead of glossy screens... I think the problem is that no one knows what the heck TrueLife is.

He's got a bright window directly behind him. I don't think you'll see anything nearly as bad in your living room.

Not in the Vostro or Inspiron lines. Maybe with a Latitude.

if no one wants it, why is it a concern?!!

if someone can choose xga with antiglare over uxga with truelife, why wouldn't they want uxga with antiglare?!!

i personally think that these computer manufacturers are just dumb for not giving people that option. it's like they're trying to force people to choose truelife over antiglare.

you have to remember they are a business. they have done their research to realize it is not worth wile to supply that option as there are probably not enough people that buy them. Sure there maybe a few people that would buy a dell 1500 with a picture of barbie and ken on the front, but the cost of adding that option would not be a smart business decision.
