And if they are, what about the fact that when ordering online, Dell forces you to check "will not be exported".

They are. But Dell won't ship it outside the country where you order it. On the US site only US residents can order, UK site only UK residents etc. Once you have the laptop it doesn't matter anymore, not sure if this applies to ALL warranties though.

I was just told they do not honor the warranty unless you fill out a "transfer" on the website, but the only one I found is ownership transfer:

Dell - International Ownership Transfer Form

I don't think warranties are internationally valid. I asked the Dell Chat rep if the US Adamo warranty was usable in Canada, he said no. It would have to be an Adamo purchased in Canada. Makes sense, since the US Adamo is $999, while the Canadian version is like $2100 (base).

it's not about price , warranty give u state in which u bought it , and u can't apply warranty in other countries

if u have next business day service that is international and in that case u can call in different countries for repair, but still dell needed to be supported there.

well i hope so because I just bought an outlet Latitude Z600 and the 3yr NBD warranty was built into the price. I'm moving to Canada next year for at least 2 years, so if I can get support in Canada, that would be awesome.
