I'm really looking into a new notebook. Preferably something in the 13.3"-14.1" range. Right now I'm really considering the new Dell Latitude E6400 and the Lenovo T400. The Studio XPSs seem promising as well. My notebook(specs in sig) is now more than 2 years old and I'm finding it to be big and bulky to take to class everyday (computer information and engineering systems student).

My question is, were I to sell my current notebook, how much could I expect to get? The RAM and HDD are both custom upgrades I did myself. The laptop itself is in great condition. I've never had to call Dell Support for anything quality related in regards to the notebook. No cosmetic defects sans a few scrapes and scratches on the lid. I get a good 4-5 hours of battery life (original battery too!). All original discs are available.

You should post in BST, just FYI.

On that note, you'll be lucky to get more than 500-550 on that unit. Yours is a pretty high-spec unit, but there are hordes of unsold 6400/E1505 on ebay 550 and above. Maybe you can get a better price locally?

I wo0ulod definitely try selling it to another student / friend, ect. It is just hard to sell electronics as they are currently so 'expendable'. It would cost a pretty penny to spec out a machine comprable to the one you are using. Maybe you should consider keeping it a little longer? I doubt the newer hardware may seem like much, if any kind of upgrade for you.

I'd give you 600 max bucks for your computer, no more, no less. Mainly because I am out a warranty. That and I can probably get a comparable machine brand new for about 650-700.

It's not that it's lacking in performance or anything, it's just that I'd like to have a machine with a smaller footprint. You know?

I use my notebook in-class extensively.
