I notice media direct doesn't work with Windows Vista. It has some error with Bitlocker encryption (even though the encryption isn't on when I checked in windows). Is there anyway to regain this wasted space then?
Actually, from windows disk management, I see 3 partitions in C, 47 mb EISA, 3GB "Primary Partition", and 183 GB "System, boot, etc".

You mean the 2.50GB partition? Reformat it and merge it with your Windows partition, using the GParted LiveCD (Google and download the .iso file). But before doing so, make sure you back up all your personal data. Be prepared to experience problems. But hopefully Windows will boot, or at least be repairable from the Install disk. So.........

The 3 GB partition is invisible to my Windows though. How did you make it show up?
