    Can you output above 1600 x 1200 through VGA correctly?

    If you have the x3100 the max resolution is 2048x1536. But that doesn't mean the driver will support it. I'd be highly surprised if it did not though.

    I think the only way to know for sure would be to find the drivers for your particular laptop and GPU and read the release notes. If you call Dell support I bet you my firstborn son they do not know the answer to your question.
