Because the next dell shipment date is 20th July.. At least that's the date for my XPS system to arrive in Palam Airport.. :D. I've bugged dell no end about shipping, delivery, et al.

I too really do not see how the processor clock speed alone will have a tremendous impact when playing games in Hi-Res or for HQ Photo-Editing..... There will be a difference but it will be very very negligible.... That too when you have 1 GB or more RAM it will hardly be noticeable except in Benchmarks.....

congrats buddy!!! me from india too and i am also thinking abt a vostro 1500. can u tell me how's the screen and color depth coz i have been reading a lot about the graininess of dell screens and the new inspirons supporting only 262k colors and not 16.7 million. What is the actual depth and viewing angles??

It's still higher than aftermarket... Besides, 9800 wasn't sustainable. Not a single person was ordering 2 Gigs, afaik.

Do you mean to say that extra 1 GB ram module for 3000 bucks is still costly ?

I suppose you are talking about Desktop PC's RAM and not laptop's....

This is the price I saw on Rediff.... And on ebay the lowest price I could get was Rs.3500 and nothing less than that.... I think you might have not checked the prices for 667 Mhz RAM....

    Hi Guys

Have you noticed the price difference in Inspiron 1520 in last couple of Days. I was able to build the below system for INR 59438 till yesterday but today the price went upto 64600+ INR.
2GB RAM is still INR 3112 but the Graphics Card price has been hiked and also the HDD
I was waiting for the price to come down so that I can order but looks like it ddint work so I ordered it today. I had a Quotation from 27th July and I talked to CS and they guy agreed to Quotation because it was valid for a month till 26th Aug

    C2D 5250
    2 GB RAM
    15.4 1440 X 900 Trulife
    1 Yr Complete Cover
    DVD Drive
    160 GB 5400 RPM HDD
Ruby Red Color (2 Week Delay)

    Thanks

yeah, i noticed that. 160 gb hdd upgrade has gone upto approx 3300 , GPU price s trebled. 8600 gt is now for approx 7200 and 8400gs is for 4149. and yeah, no bluetooth with the 1520... except for the ram upgrade, i guess i made the right decision to buy at the right time.. :D

yup. I've noticed the same too ...will they increase the prices of vostro too??? Luckily I already have a quote for the vostro1500 which is valid till 1-sep. Still not made up my mind yet. Kinda confused with whether to go for Vostro (66K) or Sony Vaio FZ15G (69K) or the HP dv6516TX (58K).
    Any suggestions guys?
