Is anyone using two hard drives in the Inspiron 1720 or Vostro 1700?

Is there any problem with noise? or with heat?

Would two 7200 rpm drives be OK or would it be better to stick to 5400 rpm if you're going to have two of them?

    i have 2x120 gb drives, 5400

i can't hear anything from the disks, or the noise is barely noticeable, so as far as that speed is concerned i wouldn't worry. dunno about 7200 though, they say that even a single 7200 drive on a laptop is pretty noisy :)

Thanks for the info. The 7200 rpm hard drive that was in the 1520 that I returned was quiet, so they aren't all noisy. I guess I'm more concerned about the heat and battery life.
