    Anyone use DBAN boot disk on a Vostro 1500

    I upgraded the hard drive on my Vostro 1500 and would like to wipe the old one before selling it.

    I tried burning a DBAN CD to use and it boots fine, but quits after about 5 seconds with a non-fatal error. I tried putting the hard drive into ATA mode in the BIOS, but it didn't help. Also, it keeps saying it found a floppy disk drive (?!). I just wondered if anyone had successfully used DBAN on a Vostro 1500. Thanks.

    I used it on mine succesfully. I had to put the hard drive into ATA mode just as you did. Also, I downloaded the latest version. I believe I grabbed the beta.

    It worked just fine.

    Dban didn't work for me. It gave me a message to "save to my floppy".
    I have notebook...no floppy drive.
