Is it better than Crysis? I need to buy COD4, but I'm busy with Crysis for now.

Crysis sucks. lol... Gorgeous, but it's a mess and far from anything innovative.

I haven't tried COD4 online, I played the demo, liked it, so my GF decided to pick me it up for X-MAS. Shes kind of a COD fan so she opened it and we tried it.. then she took it away after the 3rd map to wrap it up... Evil women... lol

In all honesty.. COD4 is the first FPS in a long long time that doesn't feel..cheap. Like all other shooters are cool but I don't feel like the weapons are doing anything. Wolfenstien Enemy Territory, that was the best shooter ever. You honestly felt the weapons working. Crappie gfx but damn it felt like quality. Hardcore shooter people know what I'm talking about.

Well you are running at 1280x800... did you overclock at all? A 3D Mark score of 4134 is high for that card, although it may be right for 1280x800.

Crysis sucks? I did like COD4 a lot but Crysis is better in my opinion but I guess it's because I'm playing Crysis the way it's meant to be played.

You say that like running at a higher native resolution makes it so much of a better experience or something. It doesn't matter one bit, looks as good at any other native resolution..

Looks as good on my 15" as it does on my 17" Alienware, only difference is the Alienware can't run it worth sh!t in comparison.

Nah, don't overclock, avoiding it, worried I'll cut my video cards lifespan in half for a minor boost - Might experiment with it though. I've heard mixed comments, it does and doesn't do anything. So I just avoid it to be safe.

Clairvoyant129, I played Crysis on my desktop. It's a cool game, just...buggy... Graphical errors, poor physics, retarded AI. Not worth the trouble. Considering X-play gave it a 3 out of 5 and experiencing it myself I back that review up totally. But everyones has there opinions.

Are you implying you some how got to run Crysis on very high with a 8600M? It looks amazing, almost photo realistic. I know graphics doesn't make the game but the gameplay is solid as well.

lol I never said anything about running crysis on a 8600m..I said my desktop.. I added the specs to my signature if it makes you happy. Runs grand on my 30" Eizo screen maxed out settings (resolution varies).

The first portion of my other post was directed to |crash|

And I already stated the facts about Crysis, "Gorgeous, but it's a mess and far from anything innovative." Gameplay is far from solid when you take into account all the bugs. Check out X-Plays review, you'll get a taste of what I'm talking about.

Not at all, I was just putting it into perspective. Native resolution for you may be different than native resolution for others. I was just trying to make that clear. Sorry if I offended you. I personally don't run the game at my native resolution, which is 1680x1050.

BTW you have a very impressive desktop! I bet Crysis looks absolutely stunning on it.

after completing the game on regular and absoloutly loved it, i set about playing multiplayer and after playing it for a couple of hours ona few maps and senarios came to the conculsion it was utter garbage, its far from realistic, the maps are too small, no one really plays as a team and its just hectic unorganised carnage,on some maps your lucky to stay alive for 30 seconds at a time no matter what you do, its just pandemonium and i was very dissapointed, some senarios are ok, but most its just a stupid mess and hard to find anything enjoyable about it, with how good the game is,the multiplayer is a big big let down ,it needs less people or bigger maps, it doesnt touch battlefield 2 for multiplayer fun

im now playing colin mcrae dirt which i got the other day , and having a little break from cod4,then im gonna play through again on the next difficulty setting

i loved the crysis demo and on direct x 9 mode it run and looked great on my machine , and ive got the game on its way and cant wait to play the full game

    No worries bro, :D.

Ya Crysis runs great, I think it's more of a hog then demanding. Foliage is one of the hardest things to render, and theres plenty of that in the game - actually to much. That's one of the geometry differences between low and very high settings, added trees. But of course al the damn post effects.

Stunning looking but those bugs ruined it for me.

Polsta just made me worry COD4 online sucks :(

I agree with Polsta on some points, but disagree that the overall experience sucks. On the contrary, I love it. Yes, some of the maps are small and can get hectic, but once you become familiar with them, you'll do a lot better and can survive much longer. Also, what is super fun is "hardcore" servers, where your hud and radar are hidden. It's much less hectic and much more realistic. I definitely recommend giving COD4 multiplayer a shot.
