    Ive been in pre-production since the 18th. Ive ordered:

    Vostro 1700
    T7300 2.0ghz
    17" WXGA+ 1440x900
    black with 2.0mp camera
    1GB ram
    9 cell battery
    8600m GT 256mb
    Wireless a/b/g
    Vista home basic

    I want my lappy! :( Who else is in my boat?

    Oh yeah also the estimated delivery date is on or before the 1st of august.

    I ordered on the 10th and it went into "build stage" on the 18th. It's been there for 9 days. They must be paying very special attention to it. :D

    I'm basically in the same boat. It's been a little over a week since I hit build stage. Blah.... I mean come on are they hand building the damn thing.

    But as long as it comes before September in good condition; I'm good.

    Actually, I think "build stage" begins when they've sent the production order to the factory in Malaysia. It probably takes less than 15 minutes to bin up all the parts and slap them together.

    I am hoping it ships very early next week before I go on holiday, otherwise I get an even longer wait.

    10/08/2007. Like I say I would like to think it will be sent around the 31st, but this is based on previous orders.

    Looks like nobody has received a European Vostro quite yet, but I could be wrong.

    No, your right. Everyone who has orderd the Vostro and XPS M1330 in Europe is stuck on preproduction.

    I called Dell today and they told me there was a lack of screens. There is a glass problem and they can't get enough screens. But the bright side is that they were working weekends to try and solve the problem and that hopefully they would get some new once this next week.

    I ordered my Vostro 1700 on the 27th of August, I just received an email from dell saying it will be delivered late, on the 18th of October!!! What the hell, that's almost 2 months!
