I am trying to figure out if anyone knows anything about the new processor? As I stated on a previous post , I am having surgery soon and need to go a head and order the Studio ASAP..I am not even sure if I need it but others have suggested I wait on the new processor so I am trying to do just that! ....any suggestions or anyone know anything definite? I am also hoping it doesn't cost an arm and a leg! ;) Thanks in advance..

Montevina is a platform. The processors are the second generation Penryns (T9E00 where E is even number for standard voltage and P8X00/P9X00 for medium voltage). Pre-orders are available now, wouldn't count on getting the laptop for a month though... what do you need computer for? If you need a laptop now just get one and don't bother waiting since there won't be too much advantage over a current one.

At what cost, though? I bet we see the base models of each Studio shoot up at least $200.

It will go up a tad for sure. I didn't need that kind of power so I really didn't care.
