So Ive had my 1530 for 2 days, and yesterday my fingerprint scanner was working flawlessly, worked all the time.

Today I come home and I couldnt login, it wouldnt even sense and try to read my fingerprint, now if I warmed up my hands it would work.

I went to take a shower and came back and now its working fine with no issues..

    anyone experience something similar?

    thanks

Somebody gave a tip earlier to moisten your finger before trying to swipe you finger. It has worked well for me, especially during the dry winter months...

Just breathing on your fingertips before swiping works. Most fingerprint readers have a harder time with dry skin.

I found if I spend too long in the shower my fingers go wrinkly and I have a problem until they dry a bit. So too dry and too damp are both problems.

Mine is pretty intermittent, sometimes it works great oter times it takes too many tries to bother.

Yeah, my tongue got totally stuck to it. It was embarrassing because I was at work, too.

I uninstalled the software. I found it pretty much useless when my girlfriend managed to login using her thumb, even though I had passworded the application.

That's just too funny, I couldn't stop laughing for several minutes because it reminded me of that news recently reported on CNN where a separated-at-birth brother and sister some how crossed path in life without knowing their relationship and ended up getting married to each other.

Just set up my 10 fingers, no problem logging in... very convenient. :)

No one at work will steal my fingerprint, because I got a lock on the system at all times... if they want to apply their "007 espionage" fingerprint stealing tactic to log into my system, good luck.

If someone STOLE my laptop outside of work, I'm PRETTY sure they will have NO idea who I am much less that they need to steal MY finger print off a coke can from the trash or where-ever.

I am not important enough of a person nor do I have any extremely important data stored on my hard drive that someone will want to go through that much trouble just to log into my system. (who actually stores ALL their personal information on the hard drive anyway? That's just asking for trouble)

Fingerprint security to me is a convenience... not a way to depend on for absolute security... therefore, not totally useless.
