I ordered the 9400 in my sig over a week ago now, and it's still in Pre-Production phase. I asked Dell about it, and all they are saying is "We will look into it for you, sorry for any inconvenience". Anyone else experience this? I wonder if there's low supply on something now (like the 7800 in the past). 7900GS? T2500?

your assumption is probably correct.
a potential silver lining is that you may be able to complain about the delay and get a freebie or two thrown at you for your inconvenience. -
Yeah, I e-mailed back asking what's the part that's causing the hold up. If it's the T2500, I'd definitely drop that to a T2400 if they'll give me another gig ram, and if it speeds up the order.

Yea, there seems to be a delay. I ordered my original 9400 about a week ago which had to be cancelled because of a screw up in the order. 5 days into the order it was still in pre-production. I placed my new order 2 days ago and it has not hit pre-production yet. I'm getting annoyed.

I just read that thread. Yeah I ordered my Insprion 9400 last Saturday. And called back today and the dell guy said to me that they had problems with the dvd drive, and they wouldnt begin to build the system before june 9.
